Tikal is a nature park which contains the biggest Maya temples.
This is temple number 1, also known as The great Jaguar.
|
In the background, you can see temple number 4,
the one built at a highest point and thus the one with best views from its top. Around me, the jungle.

Temple number 5. It was difficult to climb but the view was impressing.
|
After Tikal, we moved to Atitlán, a vulcanic lake with transparent water.
This is taken in Panajachel, the worst tourist-trap we visited.

The same lake, seen from Santiago la Laguna, antoher village in the area.
|
After the lake, we visited the national handicraft market, in Chichicastenango,
in the region of Quiche, which hosts the largest Maya community. Here you can see some indians selling their products in front of the church.
